Objectives:
Determine the coefficient of discharge (Cd) of an orifice.
Determine the time required to empty a tank.
Plot the graph of discharge rate (Qa) versus time (t).
Method: The total time required to bring the water level from H1 to H2 is calculated using the formula: T = 2A / (Cd 2g (H1 - H2)) Where, A = Area of the tank, Cd = Coefficient of discharge, g = acceleration due to gravity (981 cm/s^2), H1 = Initial height of the water level in the tank, H2 = Final height of the water level in the tank.
